Attorney Raisa Alicea was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Raisa completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in History, with a concentration in Modern European Studies, at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. After graduating from Brown University, Raisa attended law school at the DePaul University College of Law. While at DePaul, Raisa was a member of the Latino Law Students Association and developed an interest in Employment and Labor Law. She obtained her Juris Doctor from DePaul in May 2011. Since graduating from law school, Raisa has worked extensively in Employment Law matters, including unpaid wages, overtime, and minimum wage cases under the Fair Labor Standards Act, Illinois Minimum Wage Law, and Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act; discrimination, and sexual harassment. Raisa is admitted to practice law in Illinois and the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois. Raisa is also a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
